Kikko Mai is a nineteen-year-old artist, performer, and songwriter from Columbus, Ohio. In 2020, at age fifteen, as a sophomore in highschool, she won a statewide songwriting contest called Instaband. The first prize, after being signed to the label Elementary Records, was the recording, production, and release of a five song EP and music video that were released the same year.
Throughout high school, Kikko Mai performed individually and with her band at local venues in Columbus such as Urban Meyer's Pint House, the Coffman Amphitheater, Skully's Music Diner, the Goody Boy Diner, the Bogey Inn, and Standard Live. She has also performed at the Ohio Creatives Festival. Her experience includes venues of 400+ people.
In 2021, Kikko Mai released her first independent single, “pinky promise”. Since then, she has released five more singles with honest lyrics highlighting the ups and downs of social anxiety, relationships and friendships.
In 2022, she entered college where she is majoring in songwriting and minoring in music business and Spanish at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. In Nashville, she frequents Writer's Rounds at local venues such as Winners, the Virgin Hotel and other establishments. In September of 2022, Kikko released her single, "my mom's minivan",
In 2023, Kikko released her singles "her house" and "rendezvous". In December of 2023, she opened at the Vinyl Lounge for artists JT Loux and Almost A.M..

In January of 2024, she played at Drkmtrr in East Nashville. In March, Kikko Mai opened for artist Walker Burroughs and headliner Adam Paddock at Exit/In in Nashville. She also played at The End in April.

Kikko Mai frequently co-writes within the songwriting community in Nashville in the pop , indie and hip-hop genres. She is looking forward to continuing to write and perform this year.
