ARTIST INFO

Kikko Mai is a twenty-year-old artist and songwriter from Columbus, Ohio. She has been singing and writing songs for as long as she can remember (she has voice memos from 2014 as proof). Kikko discovered her love for performing during a fourth-grade talent show at her Catholic elementary school in Columbus, Ohio. She built her confidence through open mic nights around her hometown, eventually realizing she loved performing in front of big crowds.

In 2020, at age fifteen, Kikko won a statewide songwriting contest called Instaband. The first prize, after being signed to the label Elementary Records, was the recording, production, and release of a five song EP and music video that were released the same year.

In 2021, throughout high school, Kikko performed covers individually and with her band at local venues in Columbus such as the Coffman Amphitheater, Skully's Music Diner, the Bogey Inn, and Standard Live. She also showcased her talent at the Ohio Creatives Festival.

In 2022, she entered college where she is majoring in songwriting and double-minoring in music business and Spanish at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She frequented Writer's Rounds at local venues such as Winners, the Virgin Hotel and other establishments. Kikko released her singles, “pinky promise”, “idk why” and "my mom's minivan".

In 2023, Kikko released her singles "her house" and "rendezvous". She spent her time co-writing in genres such as pop, RnB, and country. In December of 2023, she opened at the Vinyl Lounge for artists JT Loux and Almost A.M.

In January of 2024, she played at Drkmtrr in Nashville. In March, Kikko opened for artist Walker Burroughs and headliner Adam Paddock at Exit/In in Nashville. She headlined The East Room and The End. She released “i thought maybe”, “GOOD GIRL”, and “the leaves”.

In 2025, Kikko Mai is set to release a highly anticipated EP featuring tracks like “tell my boyfriend,” “aphrodite,” and “the good in us.” Her music continues to resonate with fans about the beautiful and sometimes painfully awkward journey into adulthood, highlighting emotions such as guilt, anxiety, and regret. Kikko's music is for everyone, but especially for women and the queer community. Her work creates a safe and inclusive space for anyone who has ever felt like or told they were “too much".  She is now based in both Nashville and Los Angeles.

Catch Kikko Mai opening with the band KODA for headliner Adam Paddock at Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio, on **Saturday, March 22nd**!
